Advanced Traffic Generation Strategies
Joint Ventures
The only thing better than generating your own traffic is using someone else's!
A joint venture (JV) involves creating a partnership with someone else that is in a similar business and has the desired outcome of increased profitability for you and your partner.
An example of a joint venture may involve you and your partner promoting each other's products to your lists. You will receive traffic from their list, and they will receive traffic from yours.
You can also have a JV with affiliates. If you want to launch a new product, you may want to contact your highest performing affiliates and give them a higher commission on the sale if they hype your product to their lists and create a pre-release buzz for your product.
Joint ventures can be extremely profitable if done properly. It's not a marketing strategy you will be able to start right away with a new business, but it is something you should work towards.
Offline Traffic
This is not something you will want to try when you're first getting started, but as your business gets larger you should consider various forms of offline traffic.
This can include ads in newspapers, magazines, or even radio and television commercials. You can also venture into direct mail.
If you start any form of offline traffic, be sure you incorporate some way to track where it's coming from. You may want to set up a separate URL to be listed on your offline ads that redirects to your main site. This way you will know how many visitors are being generated as a result of each of your offline efforts.
